1. In slang, clutch refers to something done (well) in a crucial situation,
such as a clutchplay in sports that pushes a team into victory.
More broadly, clutch can characterize something as “excellent” or “effective.”
In 2007 Jessica Sims started designing in Microsoft Word. She didn't know "designing" was what she was doing at the time, but she was making flyers for a salon she was employed at, and they turned out...pretty good. It was brought to Jessica's attention that her Grandfather was a graphic designer and calligrapher in Germany. Cue the design deep-dive.
In 2012 she attended art school in Durham, NC where she earned her design degree. Jessica relocated to Wyoming and found herself laying out the news for a small weekly paper in Newcastle. She was awarded by the Wyoming Press Association and the National Newspaper Association for her designs multiple times.
She later learned about signage and vinyl and how to utilize her existing design techniques for more commercial applications. Finally, after over a decade of freelancing and media design, Jessica decided to funnel her creative energy into a business and Clutch Creative was born.
